Senior Kenyan editor stresses importance of Africa-Chinese media agencies collaboration

(MENAFN) A senior Kenyan editor emphasized on Tuesday that strengthened collaboration and exchanges between African and Chinese media organizations are crucial for maintaining strong friendly relations as both regions work toward a shared future and common goals.

Linus Kaikai, group editorial director and head of strategy at Royal Media Services—one of the largest broadcasters in East and Central Africa—stated in an interview that cooperation in the media sector opens a new avenue to boost economic, social, and cultural connections, promising beneficial outcomes for both parties.

Kaikai, who participated in the recently concluded fourth China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE), highlighted that the media industry offers significant opportunities for deepening bilateral ties.

According to Kaikai, media collaboration was a key focus of CAETE, held in Changsha, the capital of China’s Hunan Province, from June 12 to 15.

“The media aspect was quite significant at this expo because we had the opportunity to interact with media practitioners. Most importantly, we participated in a forum dedicated to the exchange of African and Chinese content,” Kaikai said.
