Provided by AGPAccording to a survey, Americans broadly rejected the post, with particularly strong negative reactions among Republicans and Trump voters.
The poll found that 80% of those who voted for Trump in 2024 and 79% of Republicans viewed the image unfavorably. Overall, 87% of Americans surveyed said they reacted negatively to the post.
The image, originally shared on Trump’s Truth Social account last month, showed him dressed in white and red robes, placing a hand on a sick man’s forehead while light appeared to emanate from the other hand. It was widely criticized online as “blasphemous” and was later removed.
The survey also found that 69% of Americans had a negative reaction to a prayer delivered by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth at the Pentagon, during which he referenced “violence of action,” according to reports.
